Utilikilts

Why doesn't Utilikilts have anything new?

The title of this post sums up my thinking pretty clearly.  I was looking at their site the other day and realized that I haven't seen anything new from them in a long time.  They got rid of a few things I liked, and haven't added anything new.  It could be that their current lines are selling well and they don't feel the urge to change, but come on.  There are tons of ways to improve their existing kilts and tons of new designs just waiting to be explored.  I just don't get it.

Feel free to leave suggestions or thoughts in comments.  Changes that come quickly to mind include more flexibility in fit, new color variety, fabrics that don't wrinkle as much, and some new accessories.

Kilts and x-mas sweater

Last night we had a small office x-mas party down at the Blind Tiger Ale house.  I received a lovely sweater, shirt, and tie which I wore into work today.  With a kilt, of course.  I'm wearing my old UK workman's which now only has four working snaps on it.  It's still one of my favorite kilts though, and when I dress it up with a tie I feel like I can get away with it.

Here's a shot from this morning:

Scotland Day Hash

So, this Sunday at 3 or so, I'll be r*nning the 3rd annual Scotland Day Hash here in New York.  It starts at St. Andrews Pub on 44th street and should be a good time.

If you don't know, a hash house is basically a drinking club with a running problem. Someone sets a trail in chalk or flour, and we follow it through the city streets shouting at each other.  At the end of the r*n, we drink copious amount of beer, sing filthy songs, and generally have a good time.

I'm planning to run in my Utilikilt Mocker, as I think the Workman will be too heavy. I'm curious if anyone has r*n in a kilt, and if so what you prefer.

Here's a link to the NY hash house website.
