I think it's the scarf that throws the whole outfit off. With such a bulky sweater the bulky scarf is just too much.. Otherwise I could totally see you in this outfit.. and wear the scarf with something else.

Hi Joel,

Thank you for even finding Thistle & Broom and our Sustainable Couture Kilt!

The SCK isn't for everyone - but it is gorgeous. The detail images do not do the tweed justice given the pixelation of screens - it's a lovely salt and pepper tweed. And our model is 6'3" and a former Rugby 7 player. The most perfect way to wear it is with a neutral (and by that I mean solid) cashmere jumper.

In fairness the scarf isn't really designed to wear with the outfit but the 'stylist' for the fashion show loved that the scarf was a metaphor in weaving of Scotland (from the mountains to the sea).

I want to clear something up. I love this kilt. I totally agree that with a solid color cashmere jumper and no scarf this is an almost perfect fall outfit.

I was just helping my friend with his questioning of the outfit and how it wasn't any of the parts but how busy the whole thing was that was throwing him off.

Thanks for responding to our comments and giving us some insight into the kilt and the process through which this photograph came to be.

Thanks both of you! I wasn't clear in my post that I do like the kilt a lot, but I find the outfit a bit overwhelming.

I would wear the kilt in a heartbeat, and a solid cashmere jumper would definitely do the trick.
